What Will Projectors Be Like In The Future?

178800526 (2)Technology slows down for no man, and it shouldn’t. We are developing new ideas and concepts at such an alarming rate that it would be almost idiotic for it to slow down for society. Society moves fast anyway, so it would make sense for the advancements in our tech to move at the same speed. We’ve seen the tablets, the smartphones, the computers, and the smartwatches. What about the projectors? What about the projectors that are going to be available for recreational use, and not just for office meetings? There is a lot changing and developing with the new projector technology. Whether it be 4K, short throw, holograms, interactive, or even higher functioning pico and portable projectors, we have a lot to look forward to with the new technology.

While we know that the projectors are looking towards the future, it does make one wonder, “what is the next step for projectors to push for?”

There are plenty of avenues open for projectors right now. They have a plethora of different realms that they can put more focus and funding towards. Though, just because you can spend money on something doesn’t mean that you should. Instead, developers should be focusing on what is going to generate the most revenue now so that they can put profits towards funding for the other ideals. If mobile projectors are going to bring in the most money right now, then that is where more funding should be going. Mind you though, there is a reason why I said mobile projectors.

Lets think for a second about the technology that we use every day. We use our laptops, smartphones, and tablets. These all fall into the category of mobile technology. Shouldn’t it only make sense that we bring the same idea towards the development of new projectors? Yes, 4K is nice, if you have a big enough screen for it (and the pockets for it). Holograms and Interactive projectors are always fun and entertaining, but also very costly to create and can be unresponsive. Short Throw projectors are good for a STRICTLY entertainment-only projector that is designated to be stationary. The more mobile projectors are where I feel there could be a lot more promise for companies.

With the use of the mobile projectors, you’ve entered the realm of other mobile technology that is on such a mass market area, it could bring in quite a profit. I never thought that tablets would catch on, but I was dead wrong. I know that mobile projectors could have the same type of effect. There are even some smartphones out there that are including projectors in them. This is where I see promise. This is where I can see the future happening. We have the incredible displays on our smartphones and tablets. Why not make the picture large enough for everyone to see? We have cameras on the backs of our devices. Why not add a projector? This can pave the way for pico projectors to be a more dominant version of projectors on the market as well. The idea is being mobile. We are always moving as a society, so why not add it to literally every tech device we have?

Almost everything tech related that we use is mobile today. Our game systems, our computers, and our phones, are all now basically one in the same. All inclusive in one device or more. I can only see this being the case for projectors in the near future. It would only make sense. Projectors are going to move and become more mobile with us, just like every other technology. It’s only a matter of time before we seem them available for purchase and rental on the mass market.
