Making Your Own Indoor Movie Night

Monday, March 26th, 2018

Spring may be here, but for Ohioans and probably for other northerners it still feels like winter is upon us. Since you probably will not want to use a projector for fun-in-the-sun activities if there are four inches of snow on the ground and clouds blocking the sun, you’ll want to use your projector indoors until the weather gets nicer.

One of the most common uses of our rental projectors is playing movies. Whether you have a dvd projector which can play movies directly from their discs, or if you are planning on hooking up your projector to a laptop through an HDMI cord, you are still going to need to set up a space if you want to have the best experience during your movie night.

Step One: Find a surface to project on

While this is extremely common sense, finding a good surface to project your movie onto is crucial. If by some odd chance you happen to have the optimal projection equipment – a stretchable projection fabric screen – use that. If you don’t have the projection equipment laying around your house, which you probably don’t, consider hanging a clean thin white bedsheet or any other type of sheet to the wall.  If all else fails, projecting directly onto a wall might be a reasonable solution.

Step Two: Kill the lights

Dim the lights or turn them off entirely. A lot of projectors don’t have the lumens needed to display good quality images in very well lit rooms, and even tiny amounts of ambient light in the room can ruin the colors of the show or movie that you are watching.

Step Three: Get some speakers or a speaker bar

A lot of projectors do not have their own built in speakers, so you may need to invest in a few external speakers. If your projector doesn’t have its own audio system, I would highly recommend hooking it up to a soundbar, or if you don’t have one of those, any speakers you have in-house.

Step Four: Follow up measures

Now that you have all of the projector related stuff set up, do whatever you want. Invite friends, or don’t. The great thing about setting up a projector for movie night is that you don’t have to get weird looks for going to the movies alone – and you don’t have to pay seven dollars for a bucket of delicious but unhealthy popcorn.

Summer Activities Made Great With Projector And Screen Rentals

Friday, March 7th, 2014

Summer is quickly approaching, even if the weather doesn’t necessarily show it, which means that the time of summer barbecues, family reunions and birthday parties is right around the corner. While here are a lot of fun activities to do at these events there is one that can really make them special.

I’m talking about setting up a projector and a screen. A projector and screen provides you with a ton of different options for your summer event. Throwing a family reunion? Use the projector to play a slideshow of family photos or show a bunch of old home movies. Nothing brings families closer together than reminiscing over old photos or laughing at great family moments.

Birthday parties are also perfect events for a projector and a screen. After the kids have been running around and playing all day long it is time for them to relax once night comes. Sure you can have all the kids in your living room to watch a movie but kids will find it a lot more fun to watch a movie in the backyard under the stars. Kids will see it as a cool campout situation while parents don’t have to worry about things getting messed up in the house.

But how, pray tell, do you set something like this up? I mean not many people have large projector screens and projectors lying around the house, which poses a problem. But to every great problem there is a simple solution. And what, might you ask, is this grand solution? Well obviously its a projector rental. Renting a projector allows you to have all the benefits of a projector without having the commitment of buying one.

You can rent both a projector and a projector screen from Rentourprojectors.com and have them for however long you need them, whether that be one day or one month. There are lots of benefits to renting the equipment you need. Rentourprojectors.com offers you local delivery and installation from a local technician, meaning you get professional service from someone in your own backyard.

In addition to that, you also get customer support from that same technician. Should anything go wrong for any reason simply contact your tech and ask for help. Once you’re done with your rental, your tech will come back out, take everything down and take your projector and screen off your hands, meaning you don’t have to deal with any of the logistics.

Temporary solutions like a projector and screen rental are perfect for any type of summer gathering. Whether you are hosting your family’s next reunion, having the neighbors over for a cookout or letting a bunch of kids run around your yard for a birthday party, a projector and screen rental from Rentourprojectors.com is the perfect solution.
