What Will Projectors Be Like In The Future?

Sunday, June 29th, 2014

178800526 (2)Technology slows down for no man, and it shouldn’t. We are developing new ideas and concepts at such an alarming rate that it would be almost idiotic for it to slow down for society. Society moves fast anyway, so it would make sense for the advancements in our tech to move at the same speed. We’ve seen the tablets, the smartphones, the computers, and the smartwatches. What about the projectors? What about the projectors that are going to be available for recreational use, and not just for office meetings? There is a lot changing and developing with the new projector technology. Whether it be 4K, short throw, holograms, interactive, or even higher functioning pico and portable projectors, we have a lot to look forward to with the new technology.

While we know that the projectors are looking towards the future, it does make one wonder, “what is the next step for projectors to push for?”

There are plenty of avenues open for projectors right now. They have a plethora of different realms that they can put more focus and funding towards. Though, just because you can spend money on something doesn’t mean that you should. Instead, developers should be focusing on what is going to generate the most revenue now so that they can put profits towards funding for the other ideals. If mobile projectors are going to bring in the most money right now, then that is where more funding should be going. Mind you though, there is a reason why I said mobile projectors.

Lets think for a second about the technology that we use every day. We use our laptops, smartphones, and tablets. These all fall into the category of mobile technology. Shouldn’t it only make sense that we bring the same idea towards the development of new projectors? Yes, 4K is nice, if you have a big enough screen for it (and the pockets for it). Holograms and Interactive projectors are always fun and entertaining, but also very costly to create and can be unresponsive. Short Throw projectors are good for a STRICTLY entertainment-only projector that is designated to be stationary. The more mobile projectors are where I feel there could be a lot more promise for companies.

With the use of the mobile projectors, you’ve entered the realm of other mobile technology that is on such a mass market area, it could bring in quite a profit. I never thought that tablets would catch on, but I was dead wrong. I know that mobile projectors could have the same type of effect. There are even some smartphones out there that are including projectors in them. This is where I see promise. This is where I can see the future happening. We have the incredible displays on our smartphones and tablets. Why not make the picture large enough for everyone to see? We have cameras on the backs of our devices. Why not add a projector? This can pave the way for pico projectors to be a more dominant version of projectors on the market as well. The idea is being mobile. We are always moving as a society, so why not add it to literally every tech device we have?

Almost everything tech related that we use is mobile today. Our game systems, our computers, and our phones, are all now basically one in the same. All inclusive in one device or more. I can only see this being the case for projectors in the near future. It would only make sense. Projectors are going to move and become more mobile with us, just like every other technology. It’s only a matter of time before we seem them available for purchase and rental on the mass market.

The Philips Screeneo Projector May Be The Right Entry Level Projector For You!

Wednesday, April 30th, 2014

screeneoIt’s ok to admit it, some of us don’t really like the idea of getting rid of that huge new heavy TV we just bought. After all, it’s supposed to be the centerpiece for your living room when you watch the game right? Here’s a fact though: that TV has a fixed viewing size, projectors don’t. Again, I know that the idea of replacing that beautiful TV with a projector may seem out of the question, but you don’t have to fear the change anymore! There are projectors out there that have been designed with people like us in mind. There are many makes and models out there,  and it can be confusing to differentiate between them on the basis of lumen count or bulb life. How can a newcomer make sense of all of that terminology?

Perhaps you’re familiar with the brand Philips? You may have one of their TVs in your house, but now they are making it easier to transfer to a projector. The Philips Screeneo projector might be exactly what you’re looking for if you’re a first time projector user.

Most people get turned off by the idea of a projector due to the fact that you normally have to have some special mounting involved. Then there is the issue of hiding the wires, should that be something that you want to do. All of that may add extra expense to the projector that you didn’t plan on. This is where this Philips Screeneo helps you out. For those of you that may not be familiar with the term “Short Throw”,  just know that it basically means “feature that saves me money”. Instead of needing to mount the Screeneo, all you need to do is place it on your TV stand and plug it in. You are pretty much ready to go. It throws the image upwards against the wall. These types of projectors are actually meant to be placed against the wall, getting rid of the hassle of mounting and hiding wires.

The output of this projector might not be the flashiest, but it will definitely get the job done. With a 720p resolution output, and a 50-inch display at 10 centimeters from the wall, you’re still going to have a pretty good result. Should you want to increase that size to 100 inches, all you need to do is scoot the device back to 45 centimeters from the wall. What’s better than having a TV whose screen size can be changed? The device also connects to many of the devices you may have at home. All you need to do is set up the screen orientation for each input, and you’ll be ready to go! The Screeneo is powered by Android software and comes with 4GB of storage built into the device. Built in Wi-Fi allows for web browsing on the projector itself. The addition of the SD slots mean that you can add additional storage when you need it and even upload onto the main storage deck. The built-in 26-watt speakers are also a nifty little touch to this projector.

Making the change between a TV and a projector can be difficult when you don’t know where to start or aren’t sure what you’re looking for. While this is a good entry level projector, it may be best to rent it before you buy it, seeing as how the $1,500 price tag is a bit steep.

Your Projector’s Lamp Plays A Bigger Role Than You Think It Does

Friday, April 25th, 2014

projectorWhen you go out and decide to make a purchase on some new tech, you’re more than likely going to want to know everything about what it is you’re buying. You want to learn what the product does. Are you going to have to perform regular maintenance on it? Do you need any accessories to bring out the product’s full potential? Should something break or become faulty, how do you fix it and how much is it going to cost? One such product that you have to take all of these things into consideration is a projector. You buy a projector for many reasons, but there are factors to consider. Of course picture quality is often the biggest concern, but what about the projector lamp?

Not many think about the projectors lamp when they first get the projector. It’s normal. You are so excited to get this new projector up and running. You want to check out how well the picture quality is and how responsive the projector itself is. So you turn it on, and you notice how bright it is. That is not just some type of coincidence. The brightness of your new projector is directly affected by the projector’s lamp and the cleanliness of the lamp holder, and unfortunately it won’t stay that bright forever.

When we talk of brightness in projectors, we measure it like we would with any other type of light source; in lumens. Now depending on what type of projector you are going to use, that will likely determine how bright it will be. Should you be looking into getting a business projector, then you can expect to see the images thrown onscreen to be quite bright. Most cheaper models are upwards of around 3500 lumens. By cheap I obviously mean price. You can find a projector with this type of lumen brightness count for less than $1000. That may seem like a bit more than you intend to pay, but remember it’s for the business. If you start to look for a projector for the home, then you need to start looking more at the lumen count and lamp life of your new device. The average consumer is going to take a lot more into consideration when purchasing due to the fact that they’re going to be viewing it for different purposes. They want to look at how well and where they can place it, the image quality, and obviously cost. Because of all of the factors, especially picture quality, household consumers will often choose a projector with less brightness, but better picture quality.

The life span for these projector lamps obviously differentiate as well. It all depends on how often you are going to use your projector. If you are going to use it at full brightness, you can expect around 3000-4000 hours of usage. If you choose to go the “eco” or low power setting, you’ll just be sacrificing a little bit of brightness for an extended life on  your lamp. Certain projectors will give a whole new meaning to long lamp life, if they are used in “eco” mode. While the standard is around 4000-5000 hours in the power save mode, some projectors will be able to push the lamp life a lot longer than that. That’s a very good thing, seeing as how some lamps can get very pricey, especially when dealing with higher end projectors.

When you are looking into projectors, you want to take everything into consideration. Everything has a cost, even the lamp in your projector. Learn more before you rent or buy.

Should Pico Projectors Be Coupled With Other Devices, Like Smartphones?

Thursday, April 10th, 2014

There have been a few items that we have seen recently that have been coupled together. Some devices can make this work out in their favor. Take for example the smartphone. The smartphone is basically a PDA with phone call and texting capabilities. The smartphone even took over the MP3 player by adding the same functionalities as the other device. So many things have been added onto the features of a smartphone, so many different applications and functions, that it now seems like they are just mini computers. They basically do everything your laptop does. I mean, there are different applications that have come up on the mobile app store, providing versions of their software (like Garageband for example) for direct mobile use. Now what about projectors though?

A projector is a bit different that an MP3 player or a Game Boy. It’s not as compact, normally, and tends to offer a function that can’t really be coupled with other tech devices. The biggest reason being the action of image projection. Some people use projectors for their entertainment systems, and this is where they really shine. Trust me, if the Game Boy or PSP was able to project their images on the wall, a lot more people (yours truly included) would have paid pretty handsomely to own one. But here in lies the issue. When you put two devices together, especially if one of those devices happens to be a projector, you arent able to fully focus on each devices’ separate functions and quality while maintaining a small size. We love our technology small, and that’s exactly why the pico projector came along. The pico projector by itself offers exactly what you may need for a short presentation or even a college dorm movie party. You’re smartphone offers you access to basically anything you need as long as you have a phone plan and an internet connection.

For Your Next Portable Projector Rental Contact www.RentOurProjectors.com Today At  888-736-8301

Putting the two together does come with some pretty noticeable benefits. In that same thought process, there are some drawbacks. Take the Ayane pico projector smartphone. Yes, a smartphone with a pico projector built into it. All in all, not a bad idea. The only issue being that with the size of a typical smartphone, Ayane has a certain standard to adhere to. While, yes, there are a few brands like Samsung that put out larger phones, the typical size you are going have is about 5 inches or so. Since this is the market standard, Ayane has to put all of the components and features that make a smartphone a smartphone, while still finding a way to keep the pico projector it packed inside up to standards.

The phone itself isn’t anything fantastic by any means. With only a 2000mAh battery, 4GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM, and a 1.2GHz duel-core processor, you’re getting literally the basics in terms of what we consider a high quality smartphone. The pico projector does offer a 42 inch display when thrown on the wall. It offers a 480p resolution and 1,000:1 contrast ratio. Definitely not the BEST picture, but for packing that into a smartphone, it definitely gets the job done. But again, this is why some devices might not be suited to be spliced together. Sacrifices will have to be made on both devices, and the quality may suffer in comparison to the industry standards of the modern world.

If you are in need of something that gets the job done, it may not be the worst investment. However, should you want to get the job done with a bit more quality, renting your pico projector may be a better choice.

The Optoma PK320 Is A Pico Projector With Power

Sunday, April 6th, 2014

Have you ever noticed that the smaller a device gets, the more impressive it seems? While this is not to sound cross or sarcastic towards any company or device, it just seems to be the norm. It’s never a bad thing to have larger devices shrunken down to accommodate for more mobile purpose and functionality. Remember when you first bought your boombox or Playstation 2 and how big and bulky it was? Then as time went on, we were delivered the smaller versions of these devices. They performed exactly the same as their larger counter parts but were a lot more portable. That is, luckily, the same thing that has happened now with projectors. Instead of the large boxy things from our memories of 4th grade math class, we now have some that are a bit smaller.

Pico projectors are essentially portable projectors that can be put in your pocket and taken with you on the go. They run on battery charge but can deliver the perfect visuals you need for meetings or impromptu movie sessions with friends.

optoma pico projector

In case you have been on the search for a new pico projector, or just want to start out with the best of the best, the Optoma PK320 may be the one you’ve been waiting for. Pico projectors are perfect for business meetings, and this is the one to prove it.

The throw of this particular pico projector sits at almost 20 feet in range, and can display images up to 150 big diagonally. No matter how you slice it, both of these numbers are enough to get your attention. The projector itself is pretty small. Small enough to fit in the palm of your hand actually. The projector is only 4.7 inches long, 2.7 inches wide, and a mere 1.2 inches tall. something that can easily fit into a bag or your pocket.

The projectors image quality is pretty substantial for its size as well. It’s contrast ratio sits right at 3000:1 which means you’ll get some really vibrant pictures when you need them. Your blacks will be black, your whites will be white, and everything in between! The Optoma’s aspect ratio is 16:9 with a pixel resolution output of 854 x 480. While it may not seem like much, the resolution rate is actually the industry standard for these types of projectors. The projector can be powered through an AC adapter, but should that not be available, it can run about 45 minutes on a standard charge, and about 90 minutes on “Eco” mode. Perfect amounts for any business presentation you might have.

The projector also comes with 2GB of internal memory storage, but it might be better to just stick with a USB flash drive as there is an available USB port for it as well. By carrying the flash drive with you, it eliminates the need for you to bring your laptop into the presentation or have it with you when getting ready to watch a movie with friends. If you are going to go portable, you might as well go completely portable right?

The best part is that this projector retails for only $129 currently. Definitely not a bad price for the quality and size. However, if you are on the fence or new to pico projectors, renting one for your next business presentation isn’t a bad idea at all.

Believe It Or Not, Your Projector Screen Is Just As Important As The Projector Itself

Friday, April 4th, 2014

There are some things that just naturally belong together. Peanut butter and Jelly. Cheeseburgers and fries. Me and video games. The list just goes on and on. Certain things were just made for each other, and others are designed to work in tandem with other things. Yes that sounds a bit vague, but think about it. A controller to a game system is specifically designed to work with a specific game system. The buttons are all laid out in a way that can give the user a sense of comfort and responsiveness. It should honestly be the same way with your projectors and your screens. Not sure what I mean? What I’m saying is that your screen is just as important as the components in that high end super expensive projector you just bought. They all work in conjunction with each other.

Consider this as well. You look at the screen. You don’t look directly into the projector. The screen is what gives you the image, as the projection is reflected back off of it and then displayed. Yes, having a really nice projector such as a 4K short throw model with all of the bells and whistles would be nice, but if you have a “decent” screen then you can expect to view a “decent” picture. When deciding on a projector, the screen should be just as much of an early decision with just as much research put into it.

There are certain factors that go into the overall quality of the picture. Some of these are completely dictated by the projector itself. Its display type, its throw distance, and the amount of light the projector actually puts out all play a huge role in how the image will be displayed. There are some factors that can’t be controlled by how amazing your projector is. Think about how far away you will be sitting from the screen, what all furniture and decor you have in your viewing room, and the natural ambient light that will be present. This is where your screen can come in. There are a screens that are made with specific materials and are designed to be in certain surroundings to compensate for some of the more uncontrollable variables.

For Your Next Short Term Projector Or Screen Rental Call RentOurProjectors.com Today At 888-736-8301

The color of your screen is another big deal. Yes, the color can actually matter as odd as that seems. Depending on the lighting situation in your viewing room, having a white or gray screen can really make a difference in image quality. If you aren’t really going to be in control of the lighting around you, a gray screen might be the best choice for you. If you are going to be able to control the ambient lighting then you’ll want to get a white screen. The gray screen can really boost color contrast and help colors retain their vibrancy even in well lit situations. Some screens are even designed with specific coatings involved. The coatings will be there to help disperse light from other ambient sources so that the image will be distorted and colors won’t appear washed out.

So you got the really nice high end projector for the work space or your home theater. Now just make sure you have the right screen. If you are unsure of what to get, rent a couple of them just to see what is going to give you the best image quality for your projector and surroundings.

Short-Throw Projectors are Perfect for Situations Tight on Space

Monday, December 10th, 2012

Short-Throw Projector RentalShort-throw projectors are perfect for, well, exactly what their name implies, projecting large and clear images from very short distances. This ability allows short-throw projectors to work seamlessly in small, intimate settings like conference rooms or small meeting rooms. However, some short-throw projectors can be expensive and there isn’t always a need to have one, which makes renting a short-throw projector the perfect solution.

A lot of small business meetings take place in areas that do not have a lot of extra space to spare, making it an often cumbersome experience to lug around a big, bulky projector that you more than likely won’t even have adequate room for. Most projectors also require a certain amount of space for proper use, which can get in the way of the whole meeting.

This is one of the main reasons people look into a short-throw projector rental for their smaller meetings that are particularly important. However, short-throw projectors are good for other things too. A short-throw projector could be perfect in a classroom setting where you may only have certain areas that can be outfitted with a projector.

Family movie nights or other gatherings, like family reunions, block parties or weddings can also benefit from a short-throw projector. Not many people have a ton of space in their living rooms, at least not enough for a standard projector to be far enough away from the screen to have the best picture quality, which is where a short-throw projector really shows you what it is made of.

RentOurProjectors.com has been in the projector rental industry for over 25 years and knows all the different needs a projector user faces. Whether that be limited space or trying to project something to an audience of thousands, the right projector can make all the difference.

Skip Going to the Movies and Turn Your Living Room into Your Own Personal Theater

Monday, November 26th, 2012

family movie nightPeople love going to the movies. It’s a simple fact. I mean, if it wasn’t true, movies like The Avengers wouldn’t be bringing in over $1 billion in profit. However, going to the movies can be expensive, especially if you have a big family. I know that when I used to take a girl on a date it would be no less than $40 for tickets and refreshments.

With ticket prices rising, a lot of families are turning to having movie nights at home, gathering friends and family around to relax and have some fun. However, nothing really says movie night like a projector and screen, which is why a lot of people look into renting a home theater projector.

A projector rental is a perfect way to bring friends and family together for a movie night. Not only do you get the benefit of saving money on overpriced tickets and refreshments but you also get the joy of not dealing with huge crowds of people, noisy theaters or the problem of your movie being sold out.

Projector rentals are also perfect for sporting events. Thinking of throwing a big Super Bowl party or watching the March Madness Finals? With a home theater projector rental you can throw the game up on a big screen and invite all your friends over to celebrate (or cry depending on who you are rooting for)!

Family reunions, weddings, birthday parties, you name it! A projector rental is perfect for all of those occasions. Home theater projector rentals allow you to have all the newest technology without having to pay a ton of money to get it, which is very enticing in this economy.

Rentourprojectors.com knows what it takes to make a movie night or Super Bowl party really special and is dedicated to giving you everything you need to make it so. If you need a temporary projector for any kind of event, you can’t go wrong with a company that has over 25 years of experience in the business.
