Lenovo Is Giving Us A Tablet With A Built-In Pico Projector!

Sponsored By RentOurProjectors.com–A Brand By Rentacomputer.com

Over the course of the past few years, we’ve seen some pretty amazing breakthroughs with projectors and how we can actually use them. There have been many new makes and models to come out, each boasting different specs and functions. tablet textEven with all of the new projectors that come out though, they can still be looked at as an “unnecessary” commodity in the eyes of some. There’s not a huge sense of practicality for those that would only use it for business or the occasional movie night. To them it might be just an extra expense. Because of that however, we’ve been graced by projectors being incorporated into other tech devices, such as our smartphones.

One that is a bit new to the table though, is a projector in a tablet.

Lenovo’s Projector Tab Is Pretty Sweet

lenovo yoga projector

When you think about how much we use our tablets, both for business and for pleasure, there are certain ideas that would just… make sense. Tablets these days are used mainly for consuming content. Now mind you there are still some out there who use it for business purposes. Projectors have recently started to become more than just devices that throw images upon a wall or screen. They’re now holding hard drives and are capable of using apps, much like your tablet. The new Lenovo Yoga 2 tablet just cuts the middleman out all together and gives us a tablet with a built-in pico projector. It comes with 2 GB of RAM and 32GB of storage space to hold all sorts of apps, photos, movies, and games. It’s also working with a 4th gen Intel Atom processor with the Android KitKat 4.4 OS. The tablet is capable of throwing a 50 inch image for you and everyone else to enjoy.

How Will You Use It?

yoga 2

Needless to say, many of us who own tablets normally just surf the web, go on social media, and watch YouTube videos. Even still, if that is the case, there is nothing wrong with throwing up a 50 inch display of your favorite cat videos for you and your friends to cry laughing at. This isn’t to say that I’m pigeon-holing this product. There is still a high use business aspect of this device as well. It can be cumbersome to actually connect a tablet to a projector, so when you’re going to give your presentation at that board meeting, it might not go as well as you may have wanted. Now with the Lenovo Yoga 2, you don’t have to worry about that. Every corporate office deals with giving and receiving presentations. This tablet just makes your presentation giving a lot easier.

Should We Expect This To Become The Norm?

While this is still a really cool and practical (for once) concept, there is still a lot more to projectors than most people realize. To have a really good image, you not only need a good projector, but also a good screen to go along with it. With the new Lenovo tab, you’re not really going to be too worried about having a good screen however, because your tablet has a pico projector inside of it, and it should be enough to get the job done. Until companies are able to truly make something like a 4K short throw projector built-into an extremely fast and extremely light weight tablet, laptop, or wearable, I feel that it’s safe to say that this could be a one time thing. That being said, I’ve been wrong before.

Whether you would be using this for business or pleasure, there is no doubt that having a pico projector built into the new Lenovo Yoga 2 Tablet isn’t an awesome asset. Now if only it was an ultra short throw pico projector…

Epson Debuts 3LCD Reflective Laser Projectors….For Real This Time!

Epson recently announced its newest line of Pro Cinema projectors with 3LCD Reflective laser technology, projectors that were showed off a couple of years ago but never made it to market. The new devices, known as the Epson PowerLite Pro Cinema LS10000 4K Enhancement Projector and the Pro Cinema LS9600e Wireless 1080p Projector, are capable of producing bright, clear images with up to 1,500 lumens of color brightness and 1,500 lumens of white brightness. epson powerlite pro

According to Epson, these projectors were developed to “meet the requirements of today’s most demanding home entertainment consumers, providing home theater designers with state-of-the-art solutions for creating unparalleled home theater experiences.”

These projectors combine Epson’s new 3LCD Reflective technology and a laser light source in order to deliver an Absolute Black contrast ratio and one of the industry’s largest color gamuts. The Pro Cinema LS10000 adds 4K Enhancement Technology for high sharpness, clarity and detail by shifting each pixel diagonally by 0.5 pixels, doubling the resolution and surpassing Full HD image quality without visible stair-stepping or pixel gaps.

Epson’s innovative 3LCD Reflective system allows custom installers to ensure that the images filmmakers intended are the actual images that their customers are seeing. Both projectors are capable of producing an Absolute Black contrast ratio that displays zero lumens during full-black scenes along with improved pixel density and increased aperture ratios for smoother, film-like pictures.

In addition to that, both projectors also offer advanced projection features, including Full HD 1080p in 2D and 3D with Super Resolution and Detail Enhancement for sharp, rich images, exceptional frame rate interpolation capabilities and Bright 3D Drive projection for greater brightness when viewing 3D content, according to the company.

Moreover, the projectors are also designed for convenient installations with 2.1x power zoom, power focus, lens shift up to 90% vertical and 40% horizontal and lens position memory that can store up to 10 different settings for standard 16:9 or 4:3 projection areas and 2.35:1 wide cinema ratio.

The laser light engine offers up to 30,000 hours of life with rapid warm-up or cool down time for fast, quiet operation. A WirelessHD transmitter has also been added for added installation and operation flexibility. The Wireless HD transmitter allows you to connect up to five HDMI devices simultaneously with one HDMI out connection and one optical port for switching between sources and MHL connectivity to display content from MHL-enabled tablets and smartphones.

According to Epson, both the PowerLite Pro Cinema LS10000 and PowerLite Pro Cinema LS9600e will be available through CEDIA and specialty dealers in the fall for less than $8,000. In addition to that, each projector also comes with Epson’s three-year limited warranty and support.

Sony’s 4K Ultra Short Throw Projector: The $50,000 Projector That You Will Never See In Real Life

Way back in January, Sony had unveiled a new projector at CES. It was really impressive, and used lasers to project a really nice 4K image. They were advertising it as a luxury device, and we all knew that it was going to be really expensive. The price was thought to be around $30,000 at the time, which many believed was an absolute joke.

sony short throw2

Well, the joke just got a whole lot funnier, because the Sony 4K Ultra Short Throw Projector is going to be available in September for $50,000. Yes, you read that correctly. Not only that, but it is only going to be available to people who live in the New York City metropolitan area. If you don’t live there, you can’t buy it anyway.

sony ultra short throwWe have to give Sony some credit here though! Many of the devices that are always shown off at CES don’t ever even see the light of day after that. Sony did actually deliver what they promised here. And if you are in the 1% of the population who can even say that you’re interested in this projector, then you will be able to order it from Sony by phone or on their website.

The 4K Ultra Short Throw Projector uses an SXRD laser to produce its 4096 x 2160 picture. It also has four HDMI inputs, Triluminous display, it supports 3D, and has built in speakers. Although it may not be worth as much as they are asking for it, it is actually a monster. This thing is literally like having a movie theater.

Now, lets say that you are interested in a nice short throw projector, but you don’t want to sell your house in order to get one… There are some good options out there. Plus, if you sold your house to buy this then you’d have to project movies onto trees, and I don’t think that would work very well. You can get a really nice projector for just a few hundred dollars these days.

And if you are interested in something that looks really great for way less money than you would spend buying one, you can always rent a fantastic projector for events or business meetings.

Sony Has A More Portable Version Of Their New Short Throw 4K Projector

sony ultra short throwWho doesn’t love a good movie or a good TV show? It’s always more enjoyable when you can view your movies or TV shows in pristine visual resolution. In case you’ve been living under a rock, there are new resolution rates that making watching movies or TV shows look like you’re at the movies, or even in the movies. For the longest time we’ve had the 720p and 1080p resolution rates as the standards at which we view our programs. Now we have 4K resolution, and it definitely looks remarkable. The only thing is that maybe you want to watch your programming on something other than your TV. This is where a 4K projector would come into play. The only problem is that Sony’s newest one,  shown off at CES earlier this year, is big and costs about as much as it looks like it would cost.

Luckily for us, they have developed a portable version of their new 4K Ultra Short Throw projector.

It’s Tiny

The newest 4K ultra short throw projector from Sony was shown off at CES 2014, and it looks incredible. The picture quality looks remarkable as well. The only setback, aside from the $50,000 price tag, is the fact that it’s very, very large. The projector itself looks like a very wide TV stand. Well Sony’s portable version is quite a bit smaller. The portable version of the 4K ultra short throw projector is roughly about the size of a box of Kleenex. It’s definitely a lot smaller than its predecessor, and to be honest, that makes it much more interesting to me personally. The features that it includes also give you a reason to look at it, and consider investing in it.

It’s Interactive

146920478That’s right. You can directly interact with the images that this projector displays. The projector itself beams a 23-inch image of whatever it is you’re viewing at the moment. It expands on something that was already looking really good with the larger version, as all of the images are still being displayed in stunning 4K resolution. These 4K images are also very interactive as you can stick it to your refrigerator door and have it display pictures or reminders that you can then move about with your finger. It can also connect wirelessly to your phone so that you can show photos directly from your phone and have the projector beam them out immediately. The interactive mode means that you can move the photos, or if you’re reading an article, magazine, or cooking recipe, you can “move” the pages as you need to.

So Why Get It?

It’s a lot smaller than the larger model that was shown off at the CES event earlier this year. It’s extremely portable, and it seems that portable projectors are getting more and more popular. This particular projector is also waterproof, so if you feel like watching a movie while relaxing in the tub, you can totally do that. It’s all really up to you once you invest in this projector. The 23-inch display isn’t a bad screen size considering the size of the actual device. No price has been given on the new portable version of this projector, but something tells me that it won’t be in the $50,000 range like its larger counterpart. It could definitely be a good investment for recreational purposes, or even for smaller business meetings where you want to make things a bit more interactive.

No matter which way you look at it, 4K is still doing everything it can to make sure it shows up in your life somehow. If you’re looking for a projector, why not get a portable one, especially one that’s short throw in 4K. Sony just might be onto something here.

Projectors: A Renter’s Guide

If you are involved in any kind of company or organization, chances are that at some point you will have to plan a multimedia presentation.  If the old saying “It’s all in the delivery” is, in fact, true your projector could be the difference between a success and a night constantly fiddling with your equipment.  For those whom buying a projector is not an option, renting is a quick, easy, and affordable solution.  When looking for a projector for your next presentation, keep the following things in mind to help you narrow down the wide range of products:

presenter

Room Size

When considering a projector, room size is one of the most important factors.  If your projector is too small for your venue, the image may be fuzzy and quality will be negatively affected.  When looking at your projector, make sure to look at the dimensions of the image that it casts.  This information should be readily available in the product description as its “resolution.”

Projector size

The room size will help you to determine the size of the projector you need.  Different size projectors will have different lenses, hookups, and additional features.  Some projectors are light, portable, and suitable for events in the home or smaller conference rooms; others are heavy with many extra features that are most useful in settings such as auditoriums or outdoor events.  Consider the size and venue when deciding which product you will rent.  Both small and large projectors often have the same features, so do not worry about losing quality by downgrading or upgrading the size of your unit.

lenovo yoga projector

Price

For many small organizations and businesses that do not own their own projector, price can be one of the most important factors.  How is the price of the rental broken down?  Is it a flat rate?  Is there a flate rate plus number of days?  Is there a discount given for longer periods that you can take advantage of?  Think about these issues and you may find an excellent deal on just what you are looking for.

sony ultra short throw

Audio Capability

If there is any audio in your presentation, you need a projector that can handle audio.  Its especially important that if the projector does in fact have built-in sound software, as many projectors do not include this feature.  If it does have built-in audio, ensure that it is of the sound and quality that you need.  Many projectors despite having sound are more suited for home theater activities, and are not designed for crowds or large gatherings. If you have any doubts, it may be better to also rent a separate sound system.

Connections, Connections, Connections

One of the most important factors in projector choices is how you plan to connect it to your computer or other media device.  Almost every laptop or desktop computer comes standard with an analog connector (trapezoidal) that is compatible with nearly every device.  While this is convenient, the preferred connection would be the HDMI ports that are being installed on many newer platforms.  HDMI, with its digital medium is far more reliable than the analog ports that may have interruptions such as skipping and inferior frame rates.  Some models may even come equipped with a wireless connection and necessary software.

This Handheld Projector Creates An Interactive Screen

touch projectorThere have always been companies that put out handheld projectors, but the new TouchPico from TouchJet is putting a totally new twist on it. This little projector can turn any flat surface into an interactive screen!

It is a small projector that you can hold in your hand. It can run any Android app and projects pictures up to 80 inches on any wall. At 150 lumens, it can produce a pretty good, bright image, and it ships out with a special stylus to use with it.

One of the coolest parts about the whole projector is the way the included stylus works. It isn’t attached to the projector at all so you can move around and use it. One end of the stylus has an infrared switcher, and the projector has an infrared camera attached to it that can track the movement of the pen in front of the TouchPico’s screen. This means that you can use it to interact with any objects on the screen using the stylus and using tapping gestures.

These would be great for a lot of different applications. There are a ton of different projectors out there that are being used for educational purposes, but they are outdated and need special screens to project on in order to work properly. With the TouchPico, you can project images on any flat surface that you can find. Not only that, but it is designed to sit very close to the wall and at a high angle. That means that no matter what you are doing, it would be really hard to block the projection. Throw in the interactive screen with the stylus, and that is just the icing on the cake.

Also, not trying to put any ideas in your head, but if you’re feeling really irresponsible and want to waste some time in between important work… I’m sure it would be an absolute blast to play Android games on. Just throwing that out there.

The TouchPico has HDMI and audio outputs on the back. It also has built in Wi-Fi and can be used with the Android Screencast technology.

TouchJet is expecting to ship these out in October. They recently launched an Indiegogo campaign to help fund the manufacturing of the TouchPico. Expected price around $500 or below. At that price, it seems like a steal.

Everything You Need To Know About DLP Projector Rentals

light switchWhen it comes to visual technology, most people nowadays understand what LED, LCD and HD mean in terms of picture quality. But when you delve into the realm of projectors, a new technology is added to the list, DLP. Ask any random person on the street what those other things mean and they can tell you with a certain amount of confidence. Ask them what DLP means and you might as well ask them what the answer to life, the universe and everything is (it’s 42, by the way).

DLP stands for Digital Light Processing and is one of the leading technologies used in digital cinema projection. Some have called this technology “the world’s most sophisticated light switch” with the technology spreading through the consumer electronics sector at an astonishing rate over the past few years.

The technology was invented back in 1987 by Dr. Larry Hornbeck of Texas Instruments and has become so popular that it even warranted its very own Super Bowl commercial back in 2008. With the catchphrase “It’s in the mirrors”, Texas Instruments has marketed this technology extremely well.

DLP technology, in its early form, could be found in large screen TV displays but has evolved into one of the leading technologies in video projection. DLP projectors have many advantages over other forms of projectors, including high resolution chips tat are able to project images at near 35 or 70mm film quality without the negative effects of film scratches. In addition to that, other advantages include top quality color accuracy with no “screen door” effects and smooth, high contrast pictures.

Independent testing has shown that DLP projectors exhibit consistent picture reliability, with the same testing indicating that LCD projectors developed some image degradation. Picture reliability is how images form your projector will look over time. When you look at a projected image, you may notice an unusual amount of yellow or green hues in your images. This is what is known as color decay. Projectors that use DLP technology are virtually immune to color decay.

Some quick facts about DLP projectors include:

  • DLP Projectors display movies better
  • DLP Projectors are better to use for presentations that include fast motion graphics.
  • DLP Projectors are reliable long-term

DLP Projector rentals are popular with presenters who need animated presentations displayed. These projectors also usually provide a larger size projection due to the fact that DLP projectors focus more on higher quality brightness and color saturation than LCD while also producing a more consistent picture.

RentOurProjectors.com has been in the projector rental industry for over 20 years. With that type of experience, RentOurProjectors.com is certain that you will be able to find the perfect projector for your short-term projector rental needs. What Makes A Projector Practical These Days?

projectorI don’t care what type of technology you use or what you are into. We can all agree on something; we’re not going to go out of our way to purchase new tech devices unless we can see ourselves using them. There has to be a level of practicality to the devices that we use. We NEED to have a reason to buy it. There has to be something that the device offers that makes us want to buy it. It’s pretty easy to justify the purchase of laptops, tablets, computers, and even smartphones. We tend to use these devices every day. Some things that you may not think of in terms of practicality are projectors. They too have to be useful in more ways than one these days.

Is Your Projector Practical?

Obviously if you have a projector, you know that you’ve bought it for a reason. You want to make sure that you can view your images and videos on a larger display. If you have one at your office, you more than likely use it for business meetings to talk about projected sales and need it to make sure everyone can see the images in the meeting clearly. They all have the basic function, but there usually has to be a bit more to makes sure that consumers want to buy it. Even today, most business want a bit more from their projectors than just throwing the image on the closest wall. Does your projector do more than that? If not, you may want to look at other options just to see what you’ve been missing out on.

Internet Access and Hotspots

There’s a lot that could be considered useful when talking about projectors. All things considered could be the reason why you decide to purchase your projector. Yes, short-throw and 4K projection are all nice things, but they are very specific bonuses. What about the projectors that offer you more? There are projectors that offer you internet access and even access to apps. That’s right. There are projectors out there that you can watch Netflix and Hulu on right now. Obviously, this is more of a relaxed consumer benefit, but still a very nice practical addition to any projector. There is a ZTE projector that projects at 1080p but also doubles as a mobile hotspot thanks to Sprint. This projector is what I would call practical. Always having access to internet usage is something that EVERYONE can get behind. We are a society that has to stay connected nowadays. That’s just how we are now

It All Helps Make Your Decision Easier

Projectors cost money just like everything else. If you’re going to rent yours for some type of event, meeting, or convention, you’re going to want something that you can be proud of. You’re going to want to get your hands on the projector that is going to be just as practical as it is effective. Simply by looking at the extra features and seeing what would be beneficial to have could help make your decision making so much easier. Are you going to need the internet access and app usage? Are you going to need the mobile hotspot functionality? Perhaps you just need something that’s short-throw or ultra high resolution output. All of these factors are going to determine how practical your projector is/will be. It is all a matter of opinion, but just remember; ALL projectors project images, but they’re not all made the same.

I, just like everyone else, want my technology to be practical. When I think of a projector that is able to work and give me a mobile hotspot for internet access as well, I feel like I found a projector that is worth checking into. Practicality is key.

The Ins And Outs Of An HD Projector Rental

462443715Having a projector doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice picture quality like it did in the past. Projectors are now following the latest trends of high definition media and many HD projectors are now available to everyday consumers for prices that fit almost any budget. High definition (HD) projectors offer full 1920 x 1080 HD resolutions, meaning that they are leaps and bounds above the standard 800 x 600 resolutions of traditional SVGA projectors.

When looking for the right HD projector there are a few things you need to take into consideration, like performance features and characteristics. Each HD projector is different and works differently in different situations so it is imperative that you understand what everything means and how it affects you.

One of the most important aspects of a projector and one that almost everyone notices first is the sharpness and clarity of the HD images. It will be difficult to compare image quality unless the source is 1080p from a Blu-ray player or equivalent device. An HD projector that is incapable of  handling an HD image will have an apparent softness while the images will have a slightly blurry or cloudy look to them while also displaying digital noise. As an example, switch your HDTV to a channel that isn’t an HD channel and that should help put things into perspective.

The de-interlacing capability of the projector is another feature that you should consider. A projector that has poor de-interlacing capabilities will suffer from flickering and motion artifacts.  A projector should provide a solid and stable image with few noticeable faults.

Lumen output is also a huge factor in determining the right projector for your needs. On average a higher lumen output will provide a brighter picture. Higher lumens are needed if you plan on using the projector in well-lit rooms or even outside. Without the proper lumen output your projector will look transparent and dull.

Contrast ratios measure the brightest white compared to the darkest black. The higher the contrast ratio the bigger the difference is between the two colors. Higher contrast ratios will provide more realistic looking pictures for dark scenes and images in addition to more vibrant colors.

Black levels refer to how rich the black will be when displaying the colors. Projectors that have low black levels will have their black colors look less, well, black. They are typically referred to as “bright” black or looking more gray. Black levels need to be taken into consideration, especially when using an HD projector.

Audible fan noise may not seem like that big of a deal but trust me when I say that a quiet fan makes a huge difference. When projectors are being used at max settings they often go into a high lamp mode which requires even more cooling from the internal cooling fan. In a situation where you are trying to watch a movie a loud fan can be a big distraction.

Other characteristics that need to be taking into consideration include zoom lens, lens shift, connectivity and compatibility along with warranty and price. If you take all these factors into consideration and determine which features are the most important to you then you will be completely satisfied with whatever purchase you decide to make.

If you are just at a complete loss then the professional Tech Travel Agents at RentOurProjectors.com can help with any and all questions.
